Why a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad? Surely there is no need for this question…..
There are bikes, and then there are bikes, however, for us, there is only one perfect “cruiser” and that is the Vulcan Nomad.
She purrs as she goes down the highway without being excessively loud. In other words, she let’s people know she’s arriving without deafening them. We have taken her to the mountains, on farm roads, on highways, on dirt roads, to the seaside, on country roads, and there is no terrain this girl can’t handle.
Despite her weight, she curls around those corners with the same style and grace of any gold medal Olympic gymnast. Her fuel economy is great, she has more than ample room in her pannier boxes, and sitting on her wide and comfortable seats whilst cruising down the highway equates to sitting on the plushest of sofa’s.
If the above is not enough to convince you, then simply just look at the Nomad….. her style and class speaks for itself. Even after a long trip, and needing a bath, this girl will still turn heads in any town she enters.
Prior to buying our girl Burp had previously owned a 98′ Nomad, however he had been “bikeless” (I know, hard to imagine isn’t it?) for a couple of years. Then in 2010, Giggles suggested that they start looking around for a bike. Burp was always drawn to the Nomad whereas Giggles knew nothing about it, apart from having seen photos of Burp’s previous girl. In actual fact, Giggles was always drawn to the sleek and sexy lines of the Boulevard (shh, don’t tell anyone).
After months of searching, we finally spotted an advert for a Nomad in NSW and while it might seem a long way to go for a bike, believe us, it wasn’t. You can’t travel to far for the “right” cruiser.
Upon meeting our girl it was love at first sight and she has brought us nothing but joy and pleasure since we rode her back home to QLD from NSW.
We feel that we’d be hard pushed to find another Nomad owner that didn’t agree with everything we’ve said.
